Friday 25 October, we will be recognising the feast of our patron, St. John Paul II, with a wonderful day of community activities.
Feast Day is an important time for us to come together and celebrate the centrality of community to our Catholic school. The structure of the day will differ from our regular timetable, with students assembling in Houses for a morning of focus activities to start the day. At 10am, we will gather as a College community for a whole school Thanksgiving Eucharist. Parents, carers and family members are warmly invited to attend, and we ask that you RSVP to the College office, email@example.com, by Wednesday to assist with planning. Students are required to attend school in full summer uniform for the formal part of the day’s celebration.
At the conclusion of Mass, students are invited to change into their full PE uniform for the afternoon’s activities, which will begin with the Feast Day Championship. Following this, our annual carnival stalls will operate. House groups have been busily preparing a range of games and activities for students to interact with, and all money raised from these will go towards our contribution to the work of Catholic Missions, the focus of October’s Mission Month. Tokens for stalls will cost 50c and can be purchased via the College office during breaks from Tuesday to Thursday of next week.
Feast Day is a highlight of our school year, and it is a compulsory school day for all students. House points will be awarded for attendance and participation. We look forward to gathering as a community next Friday for this joy-filled occasion.
